到底什么是单播、点对点

查了很多资料，答案都不一致。
单播：结点之间1对1进行通信
同一个网段内：通过Mac地址表完成1对1通信；
跨网段：通过路由+MAC地址表完成1对1通信；
有一个具体的4元组，即具体的源目IP、源目MAC，实现1对1通信；TCP协议就是单播方式进行流量通信；涉及到2、3层寻址；
点对点：SLIP协议、PPP协议都说是点对点
这个所谓的“点”个人理解就是设备结点（个人主机、路由器，三层交换机、防火墙之类的、有IP地址的设备），点对点也是1对1进行通信。SLIP、PPP协议不涉及4元组，只只是涉及到源目IP在IPCP阶段。
那么：
1、网上说：点对点就是两台设备通过一条物理或逻辑链路进行直连，专线终端到子接口网关、PPPoE服务器客户端都具备，那它们就是点对点？也是单播（因为客户端与服务器1对1）？
2、到底怎么理解单播、点对点？
