Guideline 2.1 - Information Needed

We have started our review, but we are unable to continue because we need additional information about your app.

Specifically, your app includes or accesses book or magazine content and is intended for distribution on the App Store in China mainland. However, you have not provided a permit demonstrating authorization to distribute an app with this content.

Next Steps

Follow these steps to maintain your app's availability on the App Store in China mainland:

1. Log in to App Store Connect, select your app, and navigate to the "App Information" section.
2. Scroll to "General Information" and attach the scanned copy of your Internet Publishing License (网络出版服务许可证) or other relevant publication permit in the "Set Up" section under "Publication Availability in China mainland"
3. Ensure the developer name associated with your account matches the authorized name (单位名称) listed in the Internet Publishing License (网络出版服务许可证).
4. Ensure the permit has not expired.
5. Resubmit your app for review.

Resources

As you may know, laws in China mainland require apps with book and magazine content to have relevant permits, typically issued by China’s National Press and Publication Administration. Learn more about these regulations from the NPPA. If you have additional questions, consult with your legal advisors to gain a full understanding of this regulation.

Since your App Store Connect status is Metadata Rejected, we do NOT require a new binary. To revise the metadata, visit App Store Connect to select your app and revise the desired metadata values. Once you’ve completed all changes, reply to this message in Resolution Center and we will continue the review.
